Re: [Harp-L] Otavio Castro
Hi, George.
Otávio Castro is indeed a superb player. I met him first in São Paulo, in
the harmonica festival 2003 (december), where Mark Ford was the
international guest. What Otávio showed us was really amazing! And we had
only started to hear from him some 5 or 6 months earlier, even though he
comes from Rio de Janeiro, a city with many good harp players.
He has a very developed musical and improvisition sense, based on a solid
theory knowledge. He has released one demo CD so far and is recording
another CD these days, with a quartet. He has also worked as a studio
musician in the past year.
I think you can contact him directly about his recordings: conexaoharmonica
@ hotmail . com (eliminate the spaces).
He is also a very enthusiastic musician and has a big passion for the
harmonica music, being very demanding with his technique and music.
Best regards,
Fernando
